Global Alliance for the Future of Food – The Food-Health Nexus Solutions Survey

Jan 21, 2019 | 0 comments

The Global Alliance for the Future of Food and Tasting the Future invite you to share your experiences and views on the critical opportunities for and barriers to creating a healthy food system. A team of researchers from Tasting the Future is working with the Global Alliance to explore ‘Systemic Solutions for Healthy Food Systems: The positive health benefits and impacts of sustainable food systems’.

We are keen to hear views from a variety of organisations and individuals who represent a wide variety of stakeholder groups in the fields of food systems and health, including government organisations, producers, businesses, academics investors, civil society organisations and donors (Trusts, Foundations etc)

The recently published EAT-Lancet Commission report highlighted the need for dietary shift to transform food systems for planetary and human health but we know that, as highlighted in the Unravelling the Food-Health Nexus, authored by the International Panel of Experts for Sustainable Food Systems, published in October 2017, there are a number of health impacts that result from our current food system including

  • occupational hazards for food workers;
  • health impacts of environmental contamination;
  • contaminated, unsafe and altered foods;
  • unhealthy dietary patterns;
  • food insecurity;

As a result of this work we hope to identify a number of policy pathways and case studies that demonstrate how we can transform food systems for health. There will be a stakeholder convening in the autumn 2019.

You are invited to take part in a survey takes approximately 15 – 20 minutes to complete and closes on Monday 9th February 2019. To fill in the survey please click the link found HERE.
